I just bought a new USB memory card reader to replace my old one which I thought was broken. However, when I hooked it up, it is doing the same thing as my old one, and that is this: it will show up in explorer as 4 removable disk drives. It assigns drive letters and everything. However, when I double click any of the drives, it tells me to please insert a disk even though my SD card or Memory Stick is inserted. I have tried everything I can think of. It shows up in device manager and there are no yellow or red icons. All is well. I even looked at my BIOS to see that I had USB enabled, which I did. I've tried different USB ports and still the same thing. When I hook it to another computer it works fine, so it's not the reader.

ynnek63, that seems to be normal. I have two card readers and both do the same as yours. If you have 4 differend cards, they all can be inseerted in their appropriate slotts and can be oppened all at the same time. I have 3 different cards and all three work when inserted. I talked this over with my computer dealer and he confirmed that this is normal. Nothing to worry about.
Cheers de Peter

ynnek63, it started doing this after I installed SP2, not before. It did the same on the computer dealers PC.

You don't understand, I can't read my cards even though it shows up in Explorer. When I double click, it asks me to insert a disk even when a card is inserted.
