Hi
I have desktop. First, it worked OK with Window Media Player. Then I installed some burner software such as AVIto\DVD,...
Each I click on Video DVD, it pop up window
" Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings."

I tried changing Media set up and uninstalling the burner software. However, the problem still exist.

Thank you for your instructions.

Best,

AVItoDVD is a converter and not really DVD burning software.

WMP in XP does not play DVD Video without an external DVD codec (el cheapos in redmond didn't have the money to pay the royalties :)

reinstall your dvd player (e.g. PowerDVD, WinDVD) this should enable WMP to play DVD video.

here is a commercial DVD codec:

also, VideoLAN Player (VLC) can play DVD video without additional codecs but it may be illegal in your country to play DVD Video through VLC (because of libdvdcss decryption)
