I was wondering if you guys knew of a media player that supported all, or nearly all formats. I'm tired of going from player to player to player with each format.

Munkybut..... Videolan, plays everything mate, and it's free too. but it is basic. All it does is play near enough any file including Dvd's. It has 1 playlist so you can queue things up. But at same time, it has very advanced features to mess with the settings also lol (but I leave them alone).
Hope that helped :o)

Windows Media Player WILL play every format, but you have to download codecs for it. They can be found at www.free-codecs.com

Media player will not play mov files, nor will it play 3gp or 3g(mp4). I have installed every codec known to the web (as far as I know) including the "Ace mega-codecs pack). and still WMP will not play these files. (I found it has trouble with realplayer files too "rmvs" i think )

If you install NEMO Codec pack. This will allow you to play any video type you need.

With an execption of Real player <-- Which is junk anyways.

Media Player Classic (free) will play just about everything, including .mov and DVDs, if you have the appropriate codecs. I find the latest version to be more reliable than previous ones.
