media player 11 security upgrade

I have just downloaded windows media player 11 and when trying to play a '.wmv' file media player is saying a security upgrade is required.. when it asks me if i want to download the upgrade i select 'upgrade' but nothing happens!
I've tested an '.avi' file and they seem to work fine..
The '.wmv' files i cannot play with media player 11 worked fine with version 10! Does anyone know how to fix the problem?
