I have tried the cmd and batch method to get mcshield.exe to startup under NORMAL priority but Mcafee keeps it under HIGH every time I start the pc or even close and restart Mcafee. There must be a better way. I notice in regedit you can search for mcshield.exe and there are 2 DWORD values named 'start' and 'type' but the values aren't simply 0 or 1. '3' and '272' are the values. There must be a way to preset this in the registry.

You have to be a bit more detailed and state your system specs. It is very hard to help if one does not know the kind of system you are running. That goes for everyone else who needs help. Just thought I would mention since I see alot of post with no system inof.

I am trying to prevent Mcafee virusscan 7 from starting Mcshield.exe with high priority. The trouble doesn't hit until I startup Kazaa but if I kill mcshield then kazaa is okay. Mcshield is really a cpu hog.
