Hi people, I have a windows XP professional (just normal PRO not Media Center Edition) and am running MediaPortal with a microsoft MCE remote. It is working fine with the MCE remote itself, however I have just purchased an MCE keyboard and am having problems.
The media buttons on the keyboard (ie: the ones that do the same jobs as the remote) are working fine, however, the keyboard itself along with the 'nipple' mouse aren't working. The IR signal is being sent and received by the remote's receiver however the computer just isnt receiving the keystrokes/mouse movements.
Also wondering if the keyboard should work outside of windows (ie: to access BIOS etc on powerup).
If anyone knows whats going on please let me know :)
I believe the MCE keyboard works flawlessly only when you are running WMCE.

I've seen it work on XP home with the drivers extracted from XP Pro and the like - the drivers are with XP Pro not just MCE (The receiver installs automatically thus drivers are built in)
The legacy support isnt an issue - tested it already. The keyboard should just be a 'USB Keyboard' in essence and thus work outside of windows too (ie: in bios) and it doesnt seem to be doing so...

XP The poster mentioned the KBoard doesn't seem to work in the Pre- Windows screens. IMO any KBoard should perform basic functions in the POST screens. "Also wondering if the keyboard should work outside of windows (ie: to access BIOS etc on powerup)".
