McAfee VirusScan

Comment:
I installed my McAfee VirusScan 6.0, but XP hides the setting files, i.e., I cannot run the config wizard or the main console. So it is there in the background scanning, I cannot even get the main window so that I could tell it to i.e. scan C:\. When double clicking on the main application icon, nothing happens.

I don't have XP but did read that you have to disable the built in firewall before you install a virus scan program. You might do a search to find out how.

The main virus scan console does not open because a required dll file is missing.
There is a patch available on the mcafee website for this very problem.

You'll find it under virusscan 6, general issues, central does not open.
