mcafee script error

everytime i try to run mcafee virus scan, an internet explorer script error pops up. Line: 488 Char: 10 Error: Object Expected Code: 0 URL: mcp://C:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\scui.dll::McDash.htm?AppId=
i cant even uninstall the program without the error coming up and when it comes up, i cant go any further, so theres no way i know of uninstalling it and reinstalling it....HELP ME!!!

I heard before that if your computer has ever had Norton installed on it that McAfee will not install at all!! There is something in Norton that prevents it even if Norton has been uninstalled completely.
ohh...i think i used to have norton but its never been on here since i got a new hard drive. i have used this mcafee scan on my computer before, but all of a sudden, this error came up. its been doing this for a long time now and ive just gotten sick of it and am now trying to figure out if anyone knows anything i can do...
