the reason i need to know this is i want to make a 1 gb partiton on my drive but partitons magic is asking what size i want it to be in mb

Hi nathany2k,

Both johnr and IBMWarpster (IBMWarpster97) are correct in that while the Industry standard may be 1000MB=1GB, we all know it's actually 1024MB=1GB, that's why you lose after you format.
