Proper terminology would be to Ghost a drive/partition. Ghost being interchangeable with image.
Very useful technology. Unfortunately the actual program called Ghost has not kept up with the times since it was purchased by Symantec. There are other programs out there that are better, including free ones.
I am still using Ghost 2003. Basically there hasn't been any major improvement to the program since then, IMO.
