|It has nothing to do with the harddrive that is usb connected. The thing was talking about a thumb or flash drive or a floppy disk. the USB harddrive should already have write caching enabled or you would not be able to write to it.|
Now if the virus disabled the drive then you need to re-enable it.
How to Enable Write access for USB
* Go to Run
* Type regedit and enter
* Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
* Double Click on WriteProtect”=dword:00000001 and change the Value of 1 to “0″(zero)
Zero - To enable Write access
One - To disable Write access for USB drive
