Comment:

I just bought the game "Kings Quest VI" and it requires 256 colors to run...but I have Windows XP and it doesn't give me that option.

Is there some sort of patch or something I can download to solve the problem? Or is the only solution to buy a 256 color video card and install it?

Hi,
Right click on the game icon, select properties, Select the compatability tab, CHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS RUN IN 256 COLOUR,apply and OK.
Your done.
