I use my usb key as a boot disk when ghosting machines. I would like to make images of the USB key, so I can just deploy the image to USB key each I need to turn it into a boot disk. But I can only find software to make floppy disk images (example: winimage) or cd images (example: winISO, magic ISO). Can't find anything designed to take an image of a USB key.
Cheers!

Are you sure WinImage won't do this? It's supposed to be able to transfer an ISO image to a USB stick.
Alternatively MKBT might do it for you.

Quote "A newer, better utility is now available from HP, the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool. (Don't worry, it can be used with non-HP drives, verified with my Sandisk Cruzer Mini.) The HP utility will allow you to easily create a bootable USB drive, provided you have a disk available with the proper DOS system files, for example a Windows 98 boot floppy."
Exactly what you're looking for methinks !

actually I had already made it bootable using the tool you suggested, but thanks.
now i just want to take an image of the USB key. but winimage doesn't seem to let me.

About a year ago, I am pretty sure that I used Drive Image 2002 to image a notebook drive via USB2 connection. It should work for your key I would think, but maybe not unless it sees it as a hard drive.
