I really need help...
I need to make a folder non-read only on my windows xp pro (sp2)I 've been trying for hours, to find a solution. I know it's a common propblem and that all my folders all read only. Most of the links I found are 2-3 years old. Has it been solved?
attrib on dos prompt, doesn't work.
safe mode doesn't work
taking ownership doesn't work.
modifying the registry with "usesystem" value doesn't workIs there a 100% working solution about this problem?
don't ask me why, don't ask me what i want to do with the folder... I've been reading the same things over and over.
Can I do it? Yes or no please.Sorry if I sound a bit angry, but I really am frustrated.

If you're telling us what NOT to ask you, how are we supposed to help????? You may be able to do what you want; you may not be able to. It depends.
Also, there is no DOS in Windows XP.

Folders are set to 'read only' because there is no logical reason to ever write 'to' a folder. You write to files 'inside' a folder but 'never' to the folder itself. I don't know what you are thinking, but it's all wrong.
It cannot be changed!!

Right, aegis, and we're not permitted to ask either. LOL
