Major virus problems on xp desktop

Dell Dimension 8250 desktop

Specs: Windows XP
Well, to make a long story short, this pc has
some major malware/virus/spyware problems.

When i turn it on it boots normally only with no
explorer or anything else. I got into task
manager and open explorer. As soon as i open
explorer a ton of processes pop up. One
process is named "Freddy44". There are many
other suspicious processes tho. Since so
many processes open the computer gets
VERY slow. It grinds to a complete halt
almost. What should i do? No, i do not have a
windows xp recovery disk. And i freeze as
soon as i boot into safemode.

You could slave the hard drive in another computer and run a anti virus.............or get a live cd with an anti virus program on it.

On the down side, if it has a lot of viruses malware etc the cleanup may also corrupt files trying to clean it.

At some point you may need to borrow a cd or get a replacement.

inclosure for the hard drive and hook it up to my laptop?
