Ok, while I was posting my other message I got a message that NT Authority Systems was shutting down my computer. I didn't get it all but it said system 32/lsass.exe and gave the number 1073741819. I guess I can add this to the list. Anyhows, computer is freezing, programs shutting down. Couldn't open Outlook Express last night, everything froze. I have run Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, McAfee Stinger. I apparently had the blaster worm prior to my trying to install SP2 and so my computer crashed then and I've had problems ever since. I also had a trojan that caused my start and desktop icons not to appear which I fixed that with KillBox. I run Avast Anti-Virus and I've been running a registry repair, Registry Clean, but the problems continue. I also recently installed the new memory cards after my computer kept saying I had less than 1% memory available. That came out of the blue too. Anyone have any idea what's wrong? I need help.

Memory problems were related to the pagefile or swap file used by Windows.Defrag the hard drive partitions once a month.
It seems that your system is due for a Repair.Run Windows setup and choose Repair(not the Console Repair). If this does not help a full reinstall may be the next best thing to do.

You can do Start, then RUN, then type
msconfig
Then uncheck items in the Startup tab.
See if MSBLAST is there. To find out what each Startup(or Process) item
does or means, and any recommendation as to if you should close the process:

How to remove SP2

I just totally formatted my computer and reinstalled Windows within the last 3 weeks. That was the 3rd time in the last few months. I need a solution that does not involve wiping everything off my computer again. I've been through that way too much lately! I also ran the blaster worm tool again and I don't have the blaster worm.

I also ran the blaster worm tool again and I don't have the blaster worm.
Then you shouldn't be getting the error message (NT Authority & lsass) that very much relates to blaster worm. I believe it's still on your PC. How did you format the HD? What kind of XP installation CD are you uising? Is it genuine?

Are you installing SP2 via the Internet ????
At the following links find and click the appropriete download for your System,
then save the file,
then after your next format and install of XP,
then install those files for a little protection
while on the Internet.
(I only have 4 of such Patches, and no SPs.)An RPC patch:

No, I ordered the disk because I have dial-up and it takes too long. Ok, my computer just shut itself down and when it came back on , it said it had experienced a serious problem. I have 4 Windows patches, one of which is for the blaster vulnerability but after installing it I got another NT Authority Systems message and shut down. It says it is lsass.exe experiencing the problem.
I have the original disks that came with my gateway. It is an authentic Windows XP disk. I formatted by booting from disk, wiping out the partition and formatting and then reinstalling. I've done it that way everytime but I continue to have problems with the same stuff so it seems as if the problems aren't getting wiped out or I'm reinstalling them with something I put back on. Anyone know how to read the hijack log I posted?

Maybe this is related to you ???

Lsass.exe crashes soon after you log on to a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) by using a smart card

you say you have an actual XP install disc. In that case, here is how to do a repair install:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...After that you will have to re-install all your critical updates. Everything else should be intact.
**I've been running a registry repair, Registry Clean, but the problems continue**
Sounds like the OS may have some system files that are corrupted .Also try this free scan:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php
and remove all it finds. Give it time to load all the definitions. Some HELP in posting on Cnet plus free progs and instructions Glad to Help!

I suggest you do a RAM test. RAM problems can cause things like that.
Download Memtest86 here:

You'll need a blank floppy disk. Put it in your floppy drive, unzip the zip file, and run install.bat. Once it's done writing, reboot the PC with the disk in. If your floppy disk light doesn't come on, you may have to make sure it's set to boot before the hard disk in the BIOS.
When you reboot, the floppy disk light will come on and the scan should start if all goes well. You don't have to understand anything on the screen, just look for any errors. Even 1 error is totally unacceptable.
It's a tried and proven fact that Jesus is the answer for every problem that people who trust in Him have.

Yep. There are a lot of things that may make LSASS crash. It doesn't have to be the blaster worm.
