I use Yahoo mail and if I get an attachment I cannot open from within Yahoo and have no option but to download it to HD first which I find hughly irritating.
I thought this was just the way Yahoo mail worked, until today that is, when I was using somebody else's PC to check my mail and to my surprise, when I hit the download button, I got the pop up box asking whether I wanted to open or save it and so was able to open it immediately.
Obviously this is not a Yahoo problem then but something to do with IE settings but I cannot find out where. Both systems are using IE6 BTW.
I seem to remember when IE6 came out something about security settings blocking downloads by default but I can't seem to find where to change this unwanted behaviour.

Sangamoura, I don't use or know anything about Yahoo mail but try this. It may solve the problem.
Open Outlook Express>Tools>Options>Security tab and uncheck "do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that potentially could be a virus", click Apply/OK.

Yahoo mail is simply a web base mail client, there is no 3rd party software to downloaded or install. Because of this I have no need of, nor therefore do I use, OE - although I have checked the security setting and it is unticked.
Taken literally that option would prevent me even saving certain attachments, somthing which I can do.
Thanks anyway.
