This was in the office software since last Saturday. No comments. Maybe someone in this part of computing.net can help. That is why I moved it. I have a friend who just graduated as a medical transcriptionist. She took this course on line. Here is how we might be able to help her. She gets her work via the internet and the company has a template that she has to follow when transcribing. That template comes with many asterisks (*), all have to be removed prior to uploading the final transcription.
She can use Ctrl/F and delete as they appear. However can a macro be created to do this task?
There is a great deal of info via google on macros. It's just a lot easier asking the forum than to start learning a new trick.
Thank you very much, if someone can help we would be very appreciative.

Harry, can't give you a definitive answer as I don't use Word. I do use Wordpad, though, and suspect they're similar. In Wordpad, I can load a document and hit Ctrl+H to select an item to be replaced. Next,it will allow me to specify what should replace it. If I simply hit return, it will replace with a blank space and allows me to choose whether to simply replace that iteration or all occurances. Then a simple save will replace the document with the revised version. HTH. Ed in Texas.
