Good evening,
I am "fixing" my friend's computer and have hit a snag. Here's the situation: He needs to connect to his school's wireless network, and to do so needs to make a few changes to his settings (the school uses PPP). Problem: Make any changes to network settings and everything is erased. Everything. MAC address goes to 00-00-00-00-00-00, all networks are erased, etc. System restore is his only option to restore his connectivity at home, but he still cannot connect at school. Thanks in advance for any and all assistance, Ed

The MAC address doesn't get set to 00-00-00-00-00-00. The way Windows sees the MAC address changes. The MAC address is hard coded into the network card.
