Hi Guys!!

I guess my pc is sufferring with blaster worm.

shortyly after connecting to internet i get the error of lsass.exe and when i click ok the timer starts which says computer will reboot in 60 secs.

i have searched this forum thoroughly and came across many such posts. i am posting it yet again because i think my problem is some what different.

I have fixed it all, which means i have followed every procedure i could find here to fix the blaster problem. i have scanned my pc with fixblast.exe ,fixwlench.exe and stinger.exe, i have applied fix blast patches plus the patches from microsoft for windows xp, i.e i have installed WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe, Windows-KB833330-ENU.exe,ASN1WindowsXP-KB828028-x86-ENU.exe, WindowsXPpatchKB824146.exe. other than that i have googled and came across some site and downloaded these two files and installed them , Blaster Patch XP.exe and Welchia Patch XP.exe.

other than that i have given look for the programs starting up with windows boot, there was no msblast.exe or any suspecting process being started up with reboot.

i have searched thoroughly for msblast.exe in my pc but found nothing. i have checked /run in hkeylocalmachine and hkeylocaluser in registry but there is no entry for msblast.exe. infact only entries of programs listed in /run are the ones that comes by default with windows.

STILL the problem is there. no matter what i do the damn lsass.exe and that auto shutdown with in 60 secs problem remains there.

i guess i have explained my problem in detail..any kind of help is appreciated

Thanks!!

Turn off your system restore if it is on and go to:
http://www.trendmicro.com
run their scanner for your whole system.if anything is there it will find it and try to repair it or give you options on what to do
