I've got lots of stuff in my Task Manager that I have never seen before and are definitely conscipious.
I realize that posting of the hijack logfile is only supposed to happen after someone requests it, but I've been having a hell of a time trying to find what in the heck is wrong with my computer.

Here's my Hijackthis logfile.
C:\WINDOWS\System32\DwqO.exe <<<<----what?
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Nnm181.exe <<<----What?
there's also
cidaeomn.exe

I know there was more, but they don't seem to be popping up at the moment.

Do a net search for Ad-aware.

Some people are like Slinkies™, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

I already ran Adaware, I've run Spybot, I've run stinger, I've run the free virus scans on the net. Nothing is coming up.

Crikey, with all that rubbish in there, not surprising your PC runs like a dog. Definately some dodgey looking stuff in amongst it too.

Go get Windows Startup Inspector from www.WindowsStartup.com which identifies all the things currently starting with Windows.

There are other programmes which do this but I personally like this one. The site already has a library of nearly 3500 known programmes but can also launch a Google search for each one too.

Then get Startup Monitor from http://www.mlin.net/StartupMonitor.shtml which will alert you each time a programme tries to install itself to run at startup.

first of all you need to post the entire log, header and all. make sure hijack this is in a permanent folder, example; c:/hijackthis.
make sure adaware and spybot are updated with the latest upgrades, then post a logfile.

brax

And post it in the sodding virus forum.
