I was wondering, I know people do cracked version of windows. I DONT WANT THAT. I was wondering, is it possible for me to find out what my old ... Bleh, I don't even know what its called anymore - the serial number or whatever you type in is? That way I could download one of those so called "Cracked" versions of Windows but then use my real serial number - the I use now, the one I bought and paid for.
I figure that would legal. Since I'm using a real serial number, mine. If I can just figure out where that would be =\
The thing is, I want to reformat my computer. It's about time for that. Hasn't been done in going on 5 years. Its cluttered, clustered, and no amount of defragging is getting it up to snuff.

Use this program to retrieve your key #. You can use anyone's cd to install xp, but you have to use your product key.

The answer 2 your question is YES you can use someone
else XP cd as long as you keep your own key...2 find that xp key is fairly easy, just choose from 1 from the software's found on the this link: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/produ...
yfinder.htmI've used RockXP before, does the job.....
Best of luck

... and the KEY here, is to use a legit install disk of XP and use YOUR key. (hopefully SP 2 or 3)
Dont use a cracked XP installer, as this could render your key unusable.

If you had a Windows XP Home, you have to download an Windows XP Home.
If your version was an OEM version, your need to download an OEM version, otherwise your serial number won't work. Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
