Comment:

Not a show stopper but some how I have managed to lose totally the little green icon by the clock (safely remove hardware).
It is not under always hide or hide when inactive.
I have checked in Start>right click properties>task bar tab>customize and it does not appear to be there.
I also ran windows repair but alas to no avail.
Has anyone got any suggestions?

Can you plug in another usb device into a spare usb port? See if it will kickstart the safely remove hardware icon again...

I only get that Icon when I plug my External HDD or Flash Card Reader into the USB Port

After Stopping the Device with the Icon and removing the Device then the Icon disappears until next time

That's how mine works anyway

Thanks to the both of you. Yes it appeared when I plugged an USB device in. When removed it disappeared again to the next time. Many thanks for your assistance.
