Is there anyway that I can get pass the password log in to re install windows on my computer. have forgoten password. I goes straight to password after dell logo goes off.. please help. Is there any help on the net, or free help anywhere.

You do not need a password to reinstall Windows. You boot from the Windows CD and follow the instructions. At some stage you will be asked to enter a password but this is a new password that has no relevance to what went before.

Do you want password or to re-install? If you just want password you don't have to re-install for that.

Is this by any chance a laptop computer. If it is then there is no way of accessing the hard disk without the password. It is a security device built into laptops.

To get round it you will need to contact the laptop manufacturer and they will almost certainly ask you to produce proof of ownership.
