This gets asked a couple of times a day and has been answered countless times. Just search the forums and you'll get your choice of several different ways to get it.

RE: The above link.

Will this reset my machine to default XP mode, and more importantly, will it overwrite any of my specialized programs that I have on my computer.

Also, I run my machine in Classic mode. Will this change? When complete, will it be like a virgin install of XP, or will all my registry and desktop settings be retained??

13. Once the Repair is done, you will be able to log on with your new password (or without a password if you chose not to use one or if you chose not to be asked for a password). Your programs and personalized settings should remain intact.

Above is item 13 from the web site.

When I get to the repair, it asks me for the Administrators password. That is what I forgot. I cannot get past that screen.

Any other tips?
