Specs: Windows XP
I lost my wordpad, paint, calculator etc from
accessories. I remember, I never did uninstall
them. I even used the Run command, it said
no such file available. I regained them back
thru Add n Remove but I want to know how did
that happen. How itself these components got
uninstalled? Just for my knowledge would like
to know. I would like to add I have no virus in
my comp as regular i keep scanning.

Restore your system to an earlier date and install a Virus checker. A virus would not have caused your problem.

glitch, power surge, infection your utility missed (try malwarebytes for spot check scanning), friend or relative, problem with an uninstaller for another program, bad hard drive sector, problem with a program installer, problem with a clean up utility, sun flare.... that in 20 seconds, many more, especially without more specifics.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
