Lost my sound after computer crash

After my computer crashed, I put my recovery disk in and got it up and running. I turned on my speakers and there was no sound. Gateway sent me a driver Cd and loaded it on. When I click on to my speakers. I get the box that tells me I have no sound device on this computer. I checked all of the drivers and they are working properly. If anyone can tell me what to do, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Go to control panel, double click on system, and then go to hardware and then device manager. Then go to sound video and game controller and then uninstall the device and restart and then it will pop up with a device, go through the same thing over again, control panel double click on system.... and then on the sound video and game controller put your cd in and install it from the cd.

Hey Guys Whats the PCI for? My pc tells me I have no drivers for it. Does that have anything to do with my sound? I had to leave town for a few days is why I didn't get back to you guys sooner. My pc tells me that I have all sound drivers.
