Comment:

While trying to use compatibility mode to load one of my son's games I somehow made it so nothing displays on the monitor, it just stays black. I hooked the monitor up to my notebook to ensure that it hadn't died and it worked fine. How can I restore communication between the monitor and computer when nothing shows on the screen? Please help. Thanks!

Have you tried starting in Safe Mode (hold down the F8 key while booting. If you can see the safe mode screen, choose Last Known Good Configuration from the menu. Good Luck...
