I was going through my comp freeing up space, deleting anything temporary, cookies, etc, and in C:\Documents and Settings\Matt\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
I deleted an index.dat. I figured they recreate themselves after a reboot. But it's still not there. Do I have a problem?

I believe that once you access the internet again that file will rebuild itself.
Thanks, but its not coming back. Isn't giving me any problems tho, so it should be ok.

I have deleted that file and it has recreated itself. The size continues to get larger all the time.
it'll just keep getting larger and larger, this is normal. i delete this about once a week, as it can be used by spyware to track your movements. It wont hurt for you to continue to dump it when it gets too large. faster, better, MORE!!
I recommend the use of index.dat suite
There is more than 1 index.dat file on your system, you know. This program tracks them all down for view or deletion,....Run this from time to time.I do my best, but it's never enough!
