Hi,

While "cleaning up" my computer's hard drive recently, I deteleted some programs that I no longer needed, only to discover that my IE icon was missing from both the desktop AND my QuickLaunch toolbar. Try as I may, I can't get them back . . .

Does anybody have any suggestions? They'd be much arrpeciated!

Regards,
dkfj

You can start here:

Right click on an empty place on your desktop, select "New" and choose "Shortcut" and browse for IEXPLORE.exe (the actual file path is "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe") and create a shortcut by following the simple instructions in the Shortcut Wizard.

If you don't rename them in The Wizard, you'll end up with shortcuts named iexplore.exe. You can rename it before you finish with the Shortcut Wizard or you can right click them on your desktop and choose "Rename".

Just drag any program icon over to the Quick Launch area. If you drag it with the left mouse button, it'll automatically add a shortcut to that space. If you drag it with the right mouse button, you'll get a mini menu offering you choices.

I found this neet site that has a lot of tricks you can do with the XP's. It is very simply explained and there are even pictures to help you understand what they are talking about.
