Lost fonts on XP

I cleaned up my hard driver yesterday with System Mechanic, and apparently it deleted my fonts? The computer boots up, but the text is all graphic type fonts, squares, question marks, etc. I tried doing a restore, but each time it says the sytem was unable to restore.
I do get the menu icons, but can't figure out which one is used to restore or reinstall fonts. Any help would be appreciated.
You may have more missing than just fonts. If this is the case, run a repair install; not to be confused with the Recovery Console.

I had a similar problem. I think that System mechanic might have changed the language, and Windows XP (your version) doesn't have a different language installed on it so Windows is showing it the only way it can.
