Hi all,
I know there have been many posts regarding this problem, but I can't seem to find an answer specific to my particular problem. WinXP keeps losing my CD/RW drive. I don't have Roxio or EZ CD Creator installed, never have. What I have is stupid Windows Media Player, which I never use, and MusicMatch. I have seen the posts that suggest removing the upper and lower filters in regedit32.exe, but when I checked, I only have the lower filter listed. My drive is a Samsung SW/408B, and I never had any problems with it on other OS, and I have run it on a different system with WinXP without any trouble.
I can confirm that you must delete the lower filters key,all the imformation about adaptec or installing or uninstalling software is not always relevent. Just DO IT! and all will be well.
