Loss of Xp product key pc usless

My brother was using my pc he claims it started updating when he shut down. Anyhow now when i turn on the pc it wants the windows XP to be registered i have an xp cd but misplaced the case i have looked high+low+i cant find the product key+the once ive got written down wont work.i want to do a system restore but cant access START menu+perform one as it wont work without the key.what can i do. Im using my mobile to get online im limited to what i do as its impossible to get online on pc HELP

There should be a sticker on the computer called the COA. That will have your product key on it.

If you can get to your desktop, then download and install Belarc Advisor. It will show your windows key.

Err, I confess I didn't really read the page. What exactly did you do?

Use the minipe solution or run ProduKey file.

tested ProductKey on a working system and it duz wit sez on the label...; and very fast too...
