Comment:

XP Keeps losing my restore points. I get periodic crashes -- it just shuts down and reboots without cause. When I look for restore points, it only saves them for a day or so. Sometimes longer, even a few weeks, but then they disappear.

Under control panel I do have it set to use maximum disk space, which is like 9157 MB.

Any thoughts?

Try start-run-type sfc /scannow. You will need the XP CD. It may repair/replace any corrupted or missing files. Rgds.
