Every so often when I boot my laptop up it takes slightly longer than normal for Windows to load... displaying 'loading' and then 'applying' personal settings. When Windows then loads I find that my personalised wallpaper has disappeared to be replaced by a standard blue background. When loading Outlook Express 6 I find that all the e-mails in my Inbox have also disappeared. My address book remains as do all the files in 'My Documents'. It is almost as if the computer is switching users automatically. When I reboot the settings remain the same and I need to change it back to my personal wallpaper and resign myself to the fact I have lost yet another lot of e-mails! I hope someone can shed some light on this please! Many thanks!

Sounds like you might have Active Desktop enabled. to Checj this Right click the desktop, choose properties, click the desktop tab, and click customize desktop.
Click the web tab and clear out and check marks
This may not be the issue but just look there first
