For starters, the Compaq Mini 110 isn't a laptop, it's a netbook. It has a weak CPU, weak graphics, & no CD/DVD drive:

I posted the link in the other response in case you didn't use the Roxio program correctly. Here's the instructions for how to access Roxio BackOn Track through the boot menu:

You can use the boot menu to restore your computer to a previous working state or to return the computer to the state it was in before the last time it was restored.

1. Press the power button to turn on the HP Mini.
2. Press and hold down the f6 key to open the Windows Boot Manager, use the down arrow key to select Roxio BackOnTrack , and then press the enter key to open Roxio BackOn Track.

Since you didn't create a Disaster Recovery Set, the best option would be to get a hold of an external DVD drive & reinstall Windows from scratch using a retail XP disc. Do you have one? Here's the drivers page:

thanks for your reply
i have pressed f6, and it doesnt give me any options it says windows is loading files then goes to roxio restore only, and gives me restore points which I have tried all of, and it just goes back to error again
I have tried to reinstall windows by using DVD drive, and windows xp disk, which tries to boot up, and then gives me a BSOD STOP error

I am using an External drive. I boot off the Windows XP disc (SP3) and after loading all setup files, I receive a Blue Screen with the following message:
 A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to you computer. If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
 Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
Technical Information
 STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF7A22524, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
Someone mention disinfecting boot !
any help would be great thanks
