"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users(or whichever user)\Documents\Pictures
When I put this command in to retrieve My Pictures, I get a message that this is not an exernal or internal command or a batch file.

Ferz
It may have been a Typing Error but don't forget that the names of the Folders are MY Documents - MY Pictures
Can you Open MY Computer - Open C Drive - Open Documents and Settings - Open User name
Then see if the MY Pictures Folder is actually there
Lesley

FerzAfter Opening User Name - Open MY Documents and then look for MY Pictures
Sorry - left one step out
Lesley

No one seems to understand -- I found the file that contains the photos that should go into My Pictures. But I cannot get them into the Start Menu listings where it says My Pictures and My Documents.

Lesley - Last time I shall write. I found the file that I want to put in that listing but since that listing (My Pictures) does not show up on Start Menu items how the hell can I put it there as it used to be???

ferzYou are now talking about two different but related things
1 - My Pictures is not on your Start Menu - I can only repeat - Right Click Start Button\Properties\Start Menu\Customize -Advanced Tab - Start Menu Items - Scroll down to My Pictures and put a Spot in 'Dislplay as Link'
2 - You want to put some Photos (or a Folder containing Photos) into the My Pictures Folder - so....
Open My Computer and then then Open the C Drive - Open Documents and Settings - Open the Folder with your User name on it - Open My Documents - Open MY PICTURES - put your Folder\Files into it
If for some reason you cannot do those things then there is something wrong somewhere and I don't know the answer!
Lesley

ferz
In the above - 2 only applies if you cannot get my Pictures onto the Start Menu
Normally one would Open My Pictures from the Start Menu but this is what you're saying you cannot do because it isn't there
So, try 1 above again - first - and if you really can't find it then do 2
Lesley

Lesley. Thanks for all your help. The missing listings are called 'Links' and they do not show up on the Start Menu Items tab so how can I scroll down to them?? I found the folder and just put it on the desktop. I dont know how to create a link on the start up menu. THAT is the problem.

Lesley. I opened the C drive, Documents and Settings, but there is no My Pictures folder there. I put my photos folder into the folder called My Documents. It still doesnt show up on the Start Menu. When I opened my user name folder, the message said that was part of the system folder. I think I have to do a system restore to a couple of months ago.
