I would appreciate anyones help. I heard about a remote access via the web, network like freeware but can't remember the name of the program. I will explain what it is like. This program allows you to network your pc via the web. The interface works much like an instant messenger. For instance instead of listing names it list file, such as my music, my videos etc. in a messaging like interface. You can set
levels of access for each item you list in that messenger like interface along with passwords and what pc can access them. If anyone is familiar with this piece of freeware I would appreciate some guidance. It is one of those things you hear about don't write it down and should of. Any help would be appreciated.

Not exactly what you want.
Get the older version of barracudadrive at softpedia if it is still there.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Never heard of the one you are talking about but a easy one to use is "winvnc tight" you interface with the remote as you where sitting in front of it the only thing is it does not have a FTP so you can't git the files remotly with this one from my experienc free remotes do nt come with FTP

Also be aware that using "some" remote access utils... you "may" become vulnerable to hackers... We had serious issues and problems after using (for a while) vncs. "Someone" hacked their way in and did all manner of damage to some of our core applications and one or two less so...
Quite how they got in was never really determined; but it was clear they used vncs to get around once inside...
We no longer use vncs in a corporate environment as a result... (We do use XP-Pro's built-in remote access however; and thus far - no problems).
Which having sed... vncs (and similar utils) does (do) have its (their) uses.
