Longhorn could be tough sell

Comment:
Longhorn has already survived several major delays, intense scrutiny from the industry, and a radical redesign of its features. But the toughest test for Microsoft's next release of Windows is still to come: Will anyone buy it?
With past updates, users had clamored for more stability and security, but analysts say people are pretty happy with Windows XP.

IMHO it is a moot point, since OEM's will at that time most likely be selling boxed units with Longhorn pre-installed, unless a similar fate to WinME befalls the OS which is arguably unlikely.
Do not type anything in this space.

Anybody who's "pretty happy with XP" will probably buy anything.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

Experiences and opinions vary. I maintain a dozen PCs, without charge, for friends and family who run XP. My only requirement is that they run a good AV program and firewall, and perform routine scans for spyware, etc.
For some, their PC is part of their livelihood. All told, they're pretty happy with XP.

As SmilinJack said above I maintain about a dozen PC's with WinXP installed. They all run a good AV and firewall. They are all scanned regularly for adware. All customers are pretty happy with XP.
