Dear group:
I was offline and defraging my hard drive and I had Process Explorer monitoring the programs running on my computer.
A couple of times I noticed a process called "logon.src" started to run and then terminated after a couple of seconds.
The last ".src" file I found on my computer was a VIRUS!
What is this "logon.src" file and what does it do?
I searched my hard drives after the defrag was complete and I could not find this "logon.src" file.
Please advise.
Thanks!

wayne,It could be a game file or anything, run a virus scan, but go here and do it,I had a virus once and Norton had me doing head stands to get rid of it..this site scans and if you have one gets rid of it for you...

Dear jram:
DAMN YOU'RE GOOD!!
I ran Spybot and it found a ton of stuff.
I used to use Ad-aware Pro 6.0, but not anymore!
I was very impressed with all the features Spybot has.
Thanks a bunch!

I hope you do realise that you have misspelled extension. If you are on about logon.scr (as opposed to logon.src you said) then file is totally legal. It is Windows XP screen saver that comes into action when you leave your logon screen (the screen where you type in your username and password) unattanded for too long.. It basically flashes a little Windows XP banner on various places on your screen untill you move your mouse or press any key. So yeah logon.scr is harmless.

Dear AcidGlow:
Thanks for the tip. I have my screen saver turned off.
This is definitely a file named "logon.src" and I was told that the ".src" extensions are "script" files.
Thanks for the info.
