Well, usually when a mouse starts acting up like you describe, pop out the little rubber ball on the bottom and blow out the chamber and make sure there is no lint buildup on the two little metal rollers and that usually solves the problem. OR on a wireless remember that you have to replace the batteries (usually AAA) fairly often.

Jessica,

I'm assuming that you have a wireless OPTICAL mouse. (there's no rubber ball in that one) A fresh set of batteries should last for at least a few weeks. You could try moving the reciever (the part that plugs into the pc) to a different spot. Keep it away from electrical sources such as wires and outlets. I know...not an easy task around a pc. There's also a reset button on the reciever you could try. If none of that works...then you may have a faulty mouse.

Is it RF or IR mouse, if it is IR then the line of sight should provided, meaning that the transmitte should points towards the receiver. Also if your mouse supports usb connection then change it from ps/2 to usb, because the data transfer rate of usb is higher then ps/2, and download the latest mouse drivers from the logitech site.

If she has the logitech mouse i assume she is using the mx700 which recharges on its own base. I think you need a mouse pad. That's all. I use a supermat as my mousepad.
