Whenever I shutdown/restart my computer, the Logitech Desktop Hook message tells me that my mouse is out of batteries and hangs the computer from the shut down process. It does this every single time I try to shut down/restart my computer when my batteries in my mouse is low. I don't want it to do that becuase whenever I tell it to shut down and leave my computer, then the computer hangs without me knowing and its a pain in the butt. How do I prevent Logitech from hanging my system?

Change/charge your batteries more often or go back to a wired mouse.

Or leave the computer powered on.

It would help if you'd post the model of the mouse.

Sorry I took a long time to respond.

JENNIFER SUMN: Or leave the computer powered on.

^ So I should leave the computer on and waste power? I have 2 servers and probably going to be 3 running all the time. I also don't know weather my Windows XP system may crash being on all the time so ocasionally, I shut it off. Should I not shut if off then?

Also Jam, thank you for trying to help me. My Logitech keyboard and mouse is an old Logitech Cordless MX™ Duo Keyboard and Mouse.

The problem is that when I install the software, it also installs the alert message which hangs the shutdown process. Its really annoying. If I don't install the software, the mouse doesn't behave the way it should behave, i.e. the mouse is too fast and the features on the mouse and keyboard are very basic.

Is there a registry hack to get rid of the message? Thats all I am asking.
