Hi everybody, I hav an Inspiron 510m notebook with windows XP home. when I use the "diskpart" command in windows I get: "An unexpected error has occurred. Check the System Event Log for more information n on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer."
I saw event log and found it is related to LDM (logical disk management). I went to Computer management (MMC) and under "disk management" I click on it.
It says "No such interface supported". what does it mean? the "logical disk management" service is running.

I am not sure which way to go. I'd suggest that you consider any number of ideas. One being a reload from factory CD. Another idea might be any number of lesser ideas like system restore, sfc.exe, and maybe virus/spyware removal.
the LDM is how mmc talks to you about the devices. See the help that goes with event tag and see also you device panel for other errors.
Be sure you are on you local computer but that is the default setting.
