Hey peeps.

As of Friday when ever i have opened outlook express (standard edition, version 6 i believe)it goes along its ways and tried to download all of the email. However when it tells me it is connecting to POP.Freeserve.com i get another small window pop up telling me to enter my username and password. The User name and password are alrady there and when i click ok, it disapears for about 1/4 of a second and reappears.

This is very anoying and any help would be much apprechiated. I would rather not spend an hour on the phone waiting to get hold of a technical advisor who doesnt know what he is doing.

Thanks again,

Daniel

Hi

Outlook Express has an uncanny ability at times to corrupt its password file. Reentering your password when prompted will not always work and rentering in the account properties also does not work all the time.

Remove the account by going to Tools and then Accounts. Add the account again. It should work.

Have you verified your password is correct by trying to telnet to the mail server. Passwords on servers can become corrupted or they may be having authentication issues on their server.

Hope this helps.
