My daughter can no longer log on to her computer. Xp boots up and asks her for her password then tells her that it is logging off again! She is locked out of her machine! I've tried booting it up in safe mode but the same happens.
What I did notice is that there is a picture of a panda's face in the bottom right of the screen. Is this a virus? Does any kind soul out there know of a way into the comp. to possibly get rid of this virus?
Any help would be most gratefully received.
Thanks.

Thanks very much mate but it's not the same problem.
After my daughter inputs her password, the comp. logs off again. The panda face is my main concern..

hiya dirtsk8,

You should be able to get rid of the virus if your anti virus program is up to date.
In anycase, I would immediatly back up any valueable data on that pc. The way to do this (if you can), is to remove the hard drive from the pc, change the jumpers to a slave, and take off the data you need. ask google how to change the jumpers if you need to. (littery ask that question, it works). at least it's safe then. then while it's in a working machine, scan it for virus's. that should answer your virus question at least. If all goes well, you can change the jumpers back to primary, and put it back in it's own pc and work fine again.
hope that helps :o)
