Log off takes forever

OS: Win XP Pro SP1
CPU/Ram: 1,4Ghz / 256MB

Can anybody give me a clue regarding the fact that lately the log off in Win XP takes forever and sometimes I have to boot the PC to log on again. I have reinstalled Win XP and there is no change. Remeber there was a bug in Win 98 sometime ago that MS released a fix to is this something similar. Pls HELP !

have a look in the microsoft knowledge database and try getting all the xp updates.
