I can't find a place to ask this question so I'll put it here.
The log in process is weird. I log in with the correct user name and PW and I am not told that I am logged in. If I go to "ASK a QUESTION" I can then see a log out icon (text). If you ask me to log out I guess I am logged in. This is all very confusing.

Hi Bill. I wouldn't worry about the 'Log In' and 'Log Out' thing. Justin has made it very easy. It's all done automatically with cookies.
