Locked out of Laptop

I forgot the password I used for my Windows XP Pro and being the un-savvy computer person that I am I am locked out of my laptop. Can anyone help me? The only option I have been able to find is taking it in to a computer store and having the hard drive redone. Please help me in anyway you can. Thanks so much!!!

sounds like u would rather keep the puter, and dont really care about the files... am i right? if so format with an old wine 95, 98, me start up disk and reinstall windo0ws

If you need your data then you can use a program called Passware to reset the password. All you need is a blank floppy disk and bootable XP CD.

Frankly, I would be extremely supicious of anyone who offered to "re-do" my hard drive.

Follow the above advice. This is a common, easily solved problem.
