Comment:

Does anyone know where the information that is displayed by msconfig under the "startup" tab is located in the registry? I've looked under "hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run" as well as "hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run" but not all of the items that are shown under the startup tab are listed there.

Check the RunServices folder at both of those keys.

For items that are disabled (unchecked) in msconfig they will be listed here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg.

You'll find a subkey for each disabled item.
