Hi, May I know how can I network 6 computers by using 2 different brand of routers. I have been trying to local network all these computers but it doesn't work. What I did is have a cable modem connect to the Linksys router, then the Belkin router connected to Linksys router so that it becomes 8 ports router.

Your helps is greatly appreciate. Thank you.

I don't think you can set it up like that. What you need is a networking switch not a second router. But you may get a better answer rposting in the networking forum.

I got a linksys 5 port switch that I hooked up with a 4 port router works great. I paid $10 for the switch. Look around they're pretty cheap.

Try this: from your linksys router, use the uplink port to connect to the belkin. Don't use the Belkins "wan" port-leave it empty, just any of the 4 "switch ports" I use a few of my my old dsl/routers as switches only. Should work for you. If you are using dhcp let the linksys router do the work. Be sure dhcp is not active on the belkin.

Hi klnaj,

You could save ypurself a few bucks ($) by uplinking a very cheap hub.

I have the same setup as yours.

A 4 port Link.. Router, uplink to the 4 port hub.

Works like a charm and the hub is very cheap $8.
